Depending on the consequences of an accident, the following insurance benefit applies following the unfortunate event:
Invalidism
After an accident, invalidism is calculated according to the dismemberment schedule. Most insurers also offer progressive invalidism: the greater the degree of invalidism, the higher the benefit. The degree of invalidism can only go to 100% (even if several body parts were affected by the accident according to the dismemberment schedule) – the compensation, however, can reach 300% or 500% of the insurance amount in some cases.
The degree of invalidism is determined by a doctor. A second opinion is often requested by the insurer for clarification. Please note that a body part does not necessarily have to be 100% affected to receive compensation according to the dismemberment schedule: partial invalidism (less severe injuries) can also lead to compensation.
Accidental Death
If an accident results in death, the specified insurance amount for this event is paid.
Work Disability
If an accident results in the inability to work, the specified insurance amount per day is paid – the so-called daily allowance.
Hospital Stay
If the injuries sustained from an accident require a hospital stay, the policy holder receives the so-called hospital allowance.
